Dudley Murrey Joins Andrews Kurth
July 15, 2005DALLAS – Andrews Kurth announces the arrival of Dudley W. Murrey, a well-versed corporate securities lawyer with more than 30 years of experience. Murrey will be a partner resident in the firm’s Dallas office. His practice includes corporate finance, federal securities matters and large-scale mergers and acquisitions.
Murrey has long represented one of the Dow 30 companies in corporate finance matters, acting as its counsel in more than $31 billion of public debt offerings and other financings and in more than $12 billion of acquisitions. He has also represented numerous other Fortune 500 companies in many domestic and cross-border financings and acquisitions
Murrey says, “My move to Andrews Kurth affords me a great opportunity to be a part of a well-recognized corporate securities team. The experience and depth of that team will allow me to enhance and expand the services I can offer my clients, both in the United States and abroad.”
Murrey, a 1971 graduate of Southern Methodist University (high honors), received his J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law in 1974, where he was the Assistant Editor-in-Chief of the Southwestern Law Journal and a member of the Order of the Coif. He was a partner at Hughes & Luce in Dallas from 1985 through 2005, where he served on that firm’s executive committee and as the head of its corporate practice. He had previously practiced for more than 10 years at Bracewell & Patterson in Houston and Washington, DC.
