Andrews & Kurth Elects Management Team

HOUSTON -- Andrews & Kurth has announced its newly elected management team for 2001. Howard T. Ayers has been reelected managing partner, a post he has held since July 1997, and will chair the firm's management committee. Joining him on the management committee are returning members, Robert Jewell, Michael O'Leary, Hugh Ray, John Shely, Tom Perich, David Barbour, Charlie Marshall and Paul Silverstein, and new members Gene Locke, David Runnels and Tom Kline. Ayers' term is three years and the others will serve for one year.

The firm recently expanded its seven member management committee to 12 seats to better represent the geographic locations of its offices, which now number eight: Austin, Dallas, Houston and The Woodlands, Texas, Los Angeles, New York City, Washington, D.C. and London.

Ayers received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1969, and a B.A. in 1966 from Rice University.

Jewell received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1978 and a B.B.A. in 1975 from The University of Texas.

O’Leary received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1980 and a B.S. in 1977 from the University of Alabama.

Ray received his LL.B. from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1967 and a B.A. in 1963 from Vanderbilt University.

Shely received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1986 and a B.A. in 1980 from Albion College.

Perich received his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 1975, his Master's in 1971 from The University of Texas, and a B.S.F.S. in 1967 from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.

Barbour received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1974, and a B.B.A in 1971 from The University of Texas.

Marshall received his J.D. from The University of Texas of Law in 1979 and a B.A. in 1976 from The University of Texas.

Silverstein received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1981 and a B.F.A. in 1977 from the City University of New York.

Locke received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 1981 and a B.A. in 1965 from the University of Houston.

Runnels received his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 1986 and a B.B.A. in 1983 from The University of Texas.

Kline received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1975 and a B. A. in 1968 from Columbia College.
