HOUSTON - Thomson Financial recently released their U.S. Municipals Review for the First Quarter of 2008, and Andrews Kurth ranked among the nation’s top law firms for new U.S. municipal bond issues.

Andrews Kurth ranks fourth nationally among law firms serving as Underwriter Counsel, handling 33 issues worth a combined $2.56 billion. The firm’s 33 issues were the most among any of the law firms in the top 10.

The firm ranks sixth among law firms serving as Disclosure Counsel, handling six issues totaling $1.68 billion. The firm’s 2008 Disclosure Counsel ranking represents a significant jump for the firm, which ranked 34th in the first three months of 2007.

“Our lawyers continue to work hard to serve our clients well, and as a result we are increasingly called on to handle more and more public finance deals,” says Bob Collie, co-chair of the Public Law practice. “It is rewarding to know that our efforts are recognized in the marketplace.”
