November 21, 2007Los Angeles, California
LOS ANGELES – Andrews Kurth is pleased to announce that the firm will be making a $2,500 donation to the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank to go toward serving hungry children and adults in the Los Angeles area. The office will also provide food donations collected during its two week food drive along with the financial contribution.
“We are very pleased that we were able to make this donation to the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank for the third year in a row,” said Partner Ralph W. Tarr. “The food bank does a great job of providing food to thousands of hungry individuals and families, and we are proud to be part of that effort.”
Food is donated to Los Angeles Regional Foodbank from local and national food manufacturers, wholesalers, supermarkets, restaurant suppliers, packers, processors and brokers. Once a shipment of food is received at the warehouse, it is sorted, inspected, and if necessary, repacked for distribution to participating charities in Los Angeles County.
“Everyone rallied around this great cause and though we are a very small office, we did manage to collect a considerable amount of food,” said Joanne Stillwagon, office administrator. We are very proud of our efforts in supporting the foodbank in providing food and other needed items to those in the community that are less fortunate than us.”
“On behalf of all our charitable agencies and the clients they serve, we would like to thank Andrews Kurth LLP and their employees for their commitment to help the Foodbank in its mission,” said Michael Flood, president and CEO of the foodbank. “Through the generous support we receive from companies and firms like Andrews Kurth, we are stronger in our fight against hunger in Los Angeles County.”
