Tonya has been with Andrews Kurth since September 1999. Her practice encompasses general civil and commercial litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels and in both federal and state court. Tonya has significant experience in intellectual property litigation defending patent infringement suits and trade secret misappropriation claims. Her practice also includes contract disputes, business tort claims, partnership matters, securities claims, construction and lien disputes, insurance cases, and debt and judgment collection. As an illustrative sample of her commercial litigation practice, Tonya has defended a publicly traded Internet advertising provider in a suit involving business torts and breach of contract claims, a worldwide consulting firm in litigation over the development of computer hardware and software, an oil and gas company in claims by the company’s former attorneys, and a major insurance company in suits to recover payments under reinsurance treaties. She has also represented corporate officers and directors in suits involving fiduciary duty issues.
