As a lawyer in Brazil, Nara worked on tax, corporate and finance matters. Licensed to practice law in Brazil and in the U.S., Nara represented Brazilian companies doing business in the U.S. as well as U.S. and European entities doing business in Brazil in a variety of corporate, tax and finance matters. She has also represented banks, multilaterals agencies, and corporations in complex domestic and cross-border finance transactions in Latin America.
Representative Experience
- Represented a multilateral lender in connection with its loan to increase the on-lending operations of a Brazilian bank
- Represented a multilateral lender in connection with its loan to increase the on-lending operations of a Honduran bank to small and medium size enterprises in Honduras, fund general corporate purposes of the Honduran bank and to fund the origination by the Honduran bank of residential mortgage loans
- Represented a multilateral lender in connection with its loan to restructure a major biofuels Brazilian company’s debt and fund the ethanol production expansion
- Represented a major Chinese oil and gas company in its bid to purchase oil and gas exploration assets in Peru
- Represented a major Chinese oil and gas company in its bid to purchase deepwater oil and gas reserves in Angola
