Margaret Braun’s practice focuses on defending employers on a wide range of employment litigation matters in federal and state courts, in arbitration and mediation, and before administrative agencies. Margaret also provides counseling to management on a variety of employment practice concerns to minimize the risk of workplace disputes and assists companies with the preparation of employment documents.
Representative Experience
Currently, Margaret is representing a nationwide company in multistate employment litigation matters. These matters include defending the company in federal court on FMLA-related claims, in arbitration on FLSA claims and in state court on claims under the state’s anti-discrimination statute.
Margaret’s recent employment experience also includes:
- Defending an international cosmetic company against Title VII claims and achieving settlement for a small sum after demonstrating plaintiff’s inability to establish damages.
- Defending a national security company against state anti-discrimination claims and achieving settlement for a fraction of the $1 million in damages demanded by plaintiff after obtaining summary judgment on all but one of plaintiff’s claims.
- Defending a national restaurant chain against FLSA claims and achieving settlement after demonstrating the weaknesses in plaintiff’s proof on liability.
- Conducting employment-related due diligence on several multimillion dollar corporate merger/acquisition transactions.
- Preparing employment agreements for the president and other key executive officers of several technology companies.

- Authored “Aids in the Healthcare Workplace,” presented to the National Business Institute’s Nursing Law in Texas.
- Co-Authored "What to do When the Whistle Blows: Practical Tips for Handling Whistleblower Complaints," presented to the Women Presidents' Organization in October 2006.
