Each summer associate in the Washington office’s six-week program receives guidance and support from a partner and an associate who collaborate as a supervising team. Our summer associates can work in two practice areas, chosen to reflect their interests and our hiring needs. This flexibility creates a diversified experience that simulates what it’s like to work at Andrews Kurth, and helps new associates make an informed decision about their practice focus.
Summer work assignments involve direct participation in our office’s current client matters. Feedback and dialogue are continuous through interaction with the Recruiting Coordinator and supervising attorneys, and detailed reviews at mid-summer and at the end of the program offer ample opportunity for mutual feedback. Each participant in the Washington office’s summer program experiences a full schedule of events for networking and fun, and learns what it’s really like to be an Andrews Kurth lawyer. And because we provide the opportunity to do real, substantive work, we can make an informed decision on which candidates we invite to join our firm.
