The summer clerkship program is designed to simulate the experience of a new attorney beginning his or her career with Andrews Kurth. Summer clerks have the opportunity to spend their summer divided between two practice areas that are selected according to the clerk's interests and our hiring needs. Designated partner and associate sponsors are responsible for assigning and evaluating the clerk's work projects; additionally, each clerk has the opportunity to work with other attorneys in his or her selected practice areas. Clerks are involved in client meetings, negotiations, drafting sessions, closings, depositions and trials. This experience provides each summer associate with the opportunity to evaluate the firm and its practice areas through involvement in a variety of projects and observation of the work of the firm's attorneys. In addition to work experience, our summer clerks are included in a full schedule of social activities for networking and fun. We plan many activities that appeal to a variety of interests. We encourage social participation to enhance each clerk's understanding of the firm as a whole, while fully embracing all that Houston has to offer.
